Hi,

My name is Simona, I am originally from Genoa Italy but now live in South East England. I have always been interested in Art and started by drawing caricatures. I didn’t venture further than this for a long time but then the 1990’s I decided to  go to university and study art. In 2000 I completed my BA (Hons) in fine art, at Kent Institute of Art and Design.(KIAD)  and began participating in local exhibitions and art related venues. While at KIAD I studied and worked with different media, from sculpture to photography. I became a member of Folkestone Art Society, Dover Art Society and just recently Ashford Art Society.  For the past 10 years I have exhibited in the South East Kent area and in Genoa (Italy) when I visit for long periods. I have held cartoon and caricature exhibitions in the historic part on old Genoa, at  ”Genoa Montmartre” which is a refurbished fruit market in the old town.

When I am not painting I do work as an Interpreter, as I speak Italian, French and Spanish. I have specialised in Legal work over the past 15 - 20 years.  I have also taught myself  Sacred Geometry, Alchemy, astrology and Geomaycry.

Recently I have started to use different materials in my art, using Acrylic , various types of cereals, sand, small stones and crystals. I find this ‘melange’ of organic substances exhilarating and inspiring to my continuous research in mental activity.
